Philippines...jr a picture speaks louder than words.jpg

Pictures speaks louder than words. This is the story about two little boys, Dino 6 years old and John Ross 3...... In just four months their lives is turned upside down and their pain has no end.

In the beginning of August 2021 I went to visit my parents on a different island in the Philippines.  On the 20th of August they lost their beloved Daddy to Covid 19 and had to watch people looking like moon-men carrying him out in a body bag, then spray the house and burn toys and mattresses etc. They then had to stay for 3 weeks in quarantine, alone with a babysitter, missing mommy and daddy, cried themselves to sleep every night. Because of Covid, I was not able to enter the house.

Finally, grandma and aunt could come and pick them up, pack the house, and travel many hours to their new home, to their mommy in Looc, Southern Leyte.

Dino started school, did all his homework,  he was best in class and proud of it. The boys had a memorial for Daddy and pictures of him on the wall, missing him every day.

In December we bought a small Christmas tree, and looked forward to make Norwegian Christmas dinner like Daddy did, because that's where he is from.

But nature had other plans....On December 15, Monster Typhone Rai hit our Island with 165 miles per hour winds (265 km) and destroyed our home, most houses on the island, the school, food stores and grandpa's boat where he fished for food for the family. All coconut trees went down, it was our family's only source of income.  The shelter we entered had half the roof blown off.....so we were wet, and in shock. Dino cried for Daddy in Heaven to come and help us.

The houses are gone, our roads are destroyed, and people have no-where to go.

The wind took our clothes, toys and our belongings, and there is no more school.

Today it looks like a deserted island, no homes, no people, and the boys have no other place to go.

My name is Gerlyn Pedersen I am a proud mother of two awesome boys and my husband in Heaven. His name is Morten Pedersen. He did not want to leave his two boys, but Covid 19 did not leave him a choice.

I am trying to raise money for my family to re-build a home, get toys, clothes, shoes, and internet so at least Dino can go to school online until school is restored here.

Dino and JR have gone through so much in their short lives, I hope, that with your help, life will get better for my two beautiful boys who lost their daddy and everything they had in such a short time.

It hurts to see them cry, I have one New-Year wish, to see them smile again.

Thank You for reading their story, God Bless !!
